
The accident on the Third Mainland Bridge involving a commercial bus and a Toyota Highlander left five individuals injured on Tuesday. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident, which occurred near the University of Lagos Waterfront inward Adeniji, temporarily disrupting traffic.
In a statement shared via its X (formerly Twitter) handle, LASTMA revealed that its officials, along with good Samaritans, promptly assisted the injured and ensured they received medical care. Efforts are currently being made to remove the affected vehicles and restore normal traffic flow.
The agency emphasized the importance of cautious driving, adhering to speed limits, and conducting vehicle checks to prevent such accidents. Motorists were also urged to cooperate with traffic officials and prioritize road safety to protect lives and property.
